Name the most influential person in your riding career and why:

Tad Coffin - Montreal Individual Gold Medallist. In the late ‘70’s Tad inspired me to move from dressage and Showing into Eventing and to work hard to be the best I could be.

George Morris - US master jumping coach. His discipline, work ethic, attention to detail and coaching know-how in Showjumping is second to none. As per Tad Coffin above, he inspired the work ethic and never give up attitude which was the hallmark of my riding career.

Describe your riding history:

I’ve owned horses for over 48 years - Started in Showing and Ponyclub, moved into Dressage, started Eventing relatively late, at 20 years of age and since, been fortunate to have ridden at the 1986 World Championships, 1991 Trans-Tasman NZ, 1994 WEG 1995 Asia Pacific Games and 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Olympics, as well as competing in all States of Australia in Eventing and most States in Showjumping and Dressage and Showhorse.

I have  been involved as a coach and a judge since 1979.

In the area of Administration, I am past  Chairman of Eventing in Australia and currently a member of the FEI Eventing Committee, the Equestrian Australia Board, the IEOC Board, the SA Eventing committee and Event Director of the Australian International 3 day Event (Adelaide CCI****). I am an EA NCAS Level 3 Eventing Coach / Assessor/Coach Educator, an FEI International 3&4* Eventing Judge, National Dressage and Showhorse Judge.

Special highlight(s) in your riding career:

Team Gold Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics (1992 & 1996), Individual Gold and Team Silver Asia Pacific Games 1995 Winner Australian 3 Day Eventing Championships 1984 and 1995. Team manager / coach Young Rider Trans Tasman’s 2005 & 2007. I am now spending my time helping riders and horses to be the best they can be, working on many committees, running the 3 Day event in Adelaide and judging around Australian and around the World. I was honoured to be part of the Ground Jury of 2012 London Olympics, and this year I have been President of the GJ at Luhmuhlen CCI4*(GER), Tattersall’s CCI3* (IRE) Campo de Mayo CCI2&3* (ARG) and GJ at Rolex Kentucky  CCI4* (USA)

I will be President of the Ground Jury of Eventing at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France in a few weeks.

What are your ambitions?

To continue to put back into the sport which I’m so passionate about, and to enjoy participating in equestrian sport whether it be as a rider, coach administrator or judge. To see the sport of Eventing go from strength to strength on the world stage.

Have you trained or coached any riders who have had success?

I have coached successful riders in many disciples, from Horse of the Year and Royal Show rider Hack Galloway and Pony Champions to winning Eventers to 3* level and Australian Young rider Eventing Teams.

Special care and management considerations of your horse(s):

We have a very stringent stable routine where observation skills are of paramount importance and every horse in our care has legs and condition checked morning and night. Only the best of feed and care will do for our horses.

Which Pryde's feeds do you use and why do you like them?

EasiPerformance - Any picky eaters love this oat free honey flavoured, high energy, high protein sweet feed.

BioMare Cubes - Great for putting weight on our youngsters off the track. Highly digestable extruded feed.

EasiResponse - Highly digestible extruded and 'cool' feed for the show horses and eventers on a maintenance diet.

EasiRide - Cost effective but well balanced, easy to feed, pellets with omega oils for a great coat.

2014 - President of the Ground Jury of Eventing at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France.

2012 - Part of the Ground Jury of the London Olympics, and President of the GJ at Luhmuhlen CCI4*(GER), Tattersall’s CCI3* (IRE) Campo de Mayo CCI2&3* (ARG) and GJ at Rolex Kentucky CCI4* (USA)

I am now spending my time helping riders and horses to be the best they can be, working on many committees, running the 3 Day event in Adelaide and judging around Australian and around the World.

2007 & 2005 - Team manager / coach Young Rider Trans Tasman’s

Team Gold Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics (1992 & 1996), Individual Gold and Team Silver Asia Pacific Games 1995 Winner Australian 3 Day Eventing Championships 1984 and 1995.
