May update from Anita - and a new purchase!
Well, because the Gatton Heavy Horse Show and Sydney CDI ended up in the April update, the May update is now a little light on! Near constant rain for the past month has meant most of the comps have been cancelled, and very little riding has been happening.
The last weekend of May Toby and myself headed to Kalbar for the Annual Junior Championships and Gelding Championships. We had a great weekend. Bart took out his yearling colt class, Champion Yearling, and Supreme exhibit under 2yo. He also was awarded the Best Presented Horse and Handler award, a credit to all our good feeding regime and Toby's immaculate presentation skills. The following day Toby showed Chief to take out his gelding class, as well as Champion Gelding. So all in all, a very successful weekend for us.
The other exciting piece of news from Windsor Park for this month is the purchase of the exciting 4yo Jaybee Jaffa from Jaybee Farm. I have been competing Jaffa all season, and the two of us have developed a great partnership in this time. She was due to go home and be sold by the stud, but instead she has been retained by us as a future competition horse.
