A great start to 2010....
I am pleased to report that 2010 has started really well, and that the horses and I are gearing up for a big season. Pete seems to have fully recovered from the back injury that kept us from competing at Adelaide in November, and I am also back to full strength after the bad fall I suffered at Richfields at the end of last year. While we have no Horses Trials in January, I spent the month getting the horses and myself fit again and also took in a couple of show jumping shows. The two advanced horses, Pete and Claude, both acquitted themselves very well, jumping lovely double clear rounds which was a great way to start the new season.
I have also started competing my lovely young home-bred horse ‘Leo Getz’ this year which has been fun. He is the first horse we bred and so we have been patiently waiting for the past few years for him to be ready to take out! He is a very cheeky character with a larger than life personality, so I was not too sure what kind of antics he would get up to when out at a show! Fortunately he did me proud and picked up a win and a couple of placings, ending up Reserve Champion at his first dressage series. He also attended the show jumping shows and went very well so I am really looking forward to starting to event him in the next few weeks.
The eventing season starts February, but I will bring you up to speed on that in next month’s report!
