NewsSponsored Rider's Report: Paul BrentTuesday 9 March 2010 February 2010
The Yarra Valley Jump Club had another well run show at the Australian Sporting Equine Academy on the first weekend of February. Saturday was a long day with temperatures into the mid thirties. A junior student of mine Jamie Ellis has been riding one of our horses BSP Temptation and she did a fantastic job placing in the height classes. Erica Rundle's young horse Batman jumped really well. We stepped him up a bit and jumped even better for it. He is settling more all the time and growing in confidence. Northern Felicity also had a step up jumping in the 1.25m which she coped with really well, she just had one down each day.
We also went to Shepparton Show at the end of February and again Batman jumped well. It was the first time we had jumped him in a big outdoor arena like that with the spooky gear and it didn't faze him at all. Again Northern Felicity jumped well in the 1.25m classes and MacMillan jumped clear in the 1.15m. Atraktion jumped double clean in the 1.05m.
We are now counting down the weeks till we move to Coldstream (seven weeks!) so we are busily finishing the fencing and getting the water troughs hooked up. Over the past few weeks we have had some really good rain and we are very relieved to see our tanks are already half full.
