Protein Pak™

Extruded LT Soy Protein Granules.

‘The ultimate natural protein and coat supplement for horses.’

feed

A low trypsin, high quality Soyabean protein supplement for all breeding and working horses. Digestibility and palatability is enhanced by a controlled extrusion cooking process that retains full nutrient content with a toasted flavour.

Soyabean protein has the best quality amino acid balance of any protein supplement and the golden granules of extruded full fat soy in Protein Pak™ supply this in a convenient, stable and easy to handle form.

The extrusion process:

  • Destroys heat labile anti-enzymes (trypsin) present in untreated soyabeans, improving digestibility and reducing risk of diarrhoea in young horses.
  • Is free from chemicals
  • Renders the naturally well balanced source of amino acids more available and ideal for growing horses.
  • Releases and stabilises polyunsaturated oils to improve coat condition.
  • Extruded full oil soyabeans, provide a high energy supplement for all working horses as compared with cold press or solvent extracted soyabean meals.
  • Soyabeans are a naturally rich source of the amino acid lysine, which is the first (or most) limiting amino acid for horses.
  • Offering superior palatability, protein digestion, coat conditioning and energy levels.

Feeding Directions

These feeding recommendations are dependent on the horse’s body condition, exercise type and duration, and the quality and quantity of chaff, hay or pasture provided in the full diet.

For the best results with Pryde's Protein Pak™:

  • Pryde’s Protein Pak™ is designed to be used as a supplement and can be fed to all classes of horses.
  • The guidelines are based on a 500kg mature horse, or a growing horse expected to reach 500kg. Adjust to your horse’s particular size, workload and age.
  • If using lucerne hay or chaff as the roughage source, reduce the amount of Pryde’s Protein Pak™ by 1/3 in racing and performance horses.
  • Introduce Pryde’s Protein Pak™ into your horse’s ration gradually over a period of 1-2 weeks.
