June 2008 We had a successful show at the AWHA Gala day in mid June. Elite PrimaDonna won her age group class for mares and then placed second in the class open to all fillies and mares bred in Queensland. Elite Lalique placed third in her age group class. She has now gone to be broken in. Elite PrimaDonna was also classified in to the Head stud book with the AWHA scoring a very commendable 74%. Karen was fortunate to catch up with her coach Rozzie Ryan for some lessons on Argentille Germaine. A very busy year for Rozzie so we were lucky to get these! Argentille Germaine also competed at the Caboolture Regional Dressage Championships in one of the advanced classes. She performed calmly and showed much improvement in her work. We scratched from the second class as the arena surface was of such poor quality that it was not conducive to a good performance. Karen judged at the very large Scots College QISEA event which unfortunately clashed with the Festival of Dressage held in Brisbane. July Our exciting three year old gelding Elite Waldo Pepper (by Wolkenstein 11) has gone to be broken in. Karen hopes to compete him next year in the young horse classes. Karen enjoyed lessons with German coach Joern Kabulke on Argentille Germaine. Summerland Dressage Championships at Bangalow which we had travelled for 4 hours to compete at was rained out. This was a great disappointment. The Brenda Wittman Classic at Gatton is always a very enjoyable competition and close to home. Unfortunately Elite River Run again had to be scratched with minor injury. Argentille Germaine showed some much improved work in the advanced tests but was unplaced. Elite Lalique has returned from being broken in and is now spelling until later in the year. |
