Busy month for Tegan Lush

Warming up with Peter Shaw

This month has been busy with Gidgegannup – an event which is split over 2 weekends due to limited parking space.

We had a successful weekend at Big Gidge, with Major Moment taking out 3rd in the Senior eva105, and Hope Springs, ridden by Elizabeth Moore, taking out second place in the same class! Tempus Fugit also used the CNC 2 star as a training run, finishing in the top ten.

From there we got home, unpacked, washed an repacked to head to Wooroloo 3 day. With Tempus Fugit in the CIC 3 star (unfortunately they didn’t run a CCI 3 star this year) and Major Moment in the CCN 105.

Wooroloo CIC*** - Dressage score 50.6, leading after dressage (next score was 62). After suffering a fall on a young horse earlier on Sunday morning, I was given clearance to continue riding, and jumped clear around the 3 star, adding 11.2 time penalties to my score. Going into the showjumping I was still in the lead and only had one rail in hand. We showjumped clear, the only double clear round in the 3 star class.

Dressage day dawned, and both horses putting in good tests, with Tempus Fugit being in the lead and Major Moment holding 3rd place.

One of the first riders out for the cross country on Major Moment, a reasonably long and tough track, we almost made it home – 3 jumps from the finish line and an uncharacteristic leaving of  leg meant I ended up on the ground! I eventually got cleared from the Medics, and after sourcing a new body vest hopped on Tempus Fugit to jump clear, adding some time to the score.

Monday morning dawned, and a very stiff I managed to trot up, but a long wait to showjumping meant I wore stiffer as the day went on! However, we held it together and produced a clear showjumping round, the only 3 star rider to showjump double clear – to hold onto the lead!

Very happy with Tempus Fugit after the weekend, he was super, and our relationship is really blossoming – next we head to Alcoa CIC before deciding upon Adelaide 4star.
